Hi,
My name is David Flowers. I used to play in a band with Mike Pope from Vicksburg. I’ve recently been putting together some thoughts on my own website and included a story about one of the weekends where we all stayed at Under the Hill and played.
I’m quite sure no one there would remember me, but you probably remember Mike. If so, I’m sure you know he passed some years ago. He always loved playing at Under the Hill. And the story is mostly about J.D. anyway.

Once in a while in travels, we all find a place that for whatever reason, strikes us. Perhaps it’s the physical surroundings or the people in it, but it seems to have an air, a history, something familiar though you’ve never been there. I found a place like that in one of the smallest bar’s I’ve ever played in, the Under the Hill Saloon, in Natchez, Mississippi. |
